I am very happy with Smith Scabs in general. The shape of the caps was very different from the 187s I started with, so that required a little bit of adaptation of my falling technique. But once I figured it out, it's been great. One nitpicky thing I'd like to see changed in the future is that the straps do this inconvenient thing where they pull the plastic (Rings? Hinges? I'm not sure exactly what to call them. The things the straps double back through) toward one side, causing them to bunch up and turn perpendicular to the way they're supposed to be. It doesn't affect the integrity of the straps, and it won't keep me from buying Scabs in the future, but it does give an extra inch that I have to tighten down.
