I have a very wide super flat foot, and have been trying for the past two years to just make my foot fit to my boot...These were recommended to me by Psycho Babble at a bootcamp, and after trying a few others on, I decided on the 965s. THEY ARE AMAZING. My flat, wide feet no longer have to cram into a boot--these fit side to side so well that my feet never go numb. These boots make me work for their lovin''....I have the blisters to prove it....but even still, I am in love. There is a padded microsuede around the back & sides of the ankles and on the tongue, which make fit my foot snugly.

I am a sized 10E in a Red Wing work boot. I ordered this skate boot in a 10 D/B. It is a perfect fit for skating. You want the boot snug, but I DID NOT go down a number size as Riedell suggested due to my E width. I built the skate with Labeda Proline plate, and Faster multi-component wheels. I chose Bont Swiss 608 bearings. Skated one session, and then took apart to heat mold. Skated another session, and was getting rubbed in the arch of my right foot. Did the heat mold of that boot over, and now the boots fit like a second skin. I used a fan-bake convection toaster oven at 200 for 8-minutes, and laced TIGHT to foot for 5 minutes. Removed boot, and laces. Laced normal, and put back on foot for 2 minutes. I firmly believe I have the best pair of skates money can buy. These boots feel broke-in right out of the box. You may, or may-not need to heat mold.
